Family Violence Intervention and Prevention Charitable Trust (Family VIP Services) is dedicated to supporting families who are affected by family violence. Every year we help hundreds of women, men and children.
In 1977 Napier Women’s Refuge opened the first safe house in Hawke’s Bay with Hastings opening the Women’s Emergency Centre the following year. Both refuges worked side by side for many years.
In 2018 a decision was made to merge the services to create Family VIP Services, we now provide a consistent, supportive and broad scope of services across Hawke’s Bay to families in need.
